    Hey there!

So I'm having issues with connecting to the internet. I'm connected to the network but cannot browse the internet or play online games. Currently I'm on my housemates laptop. None of my house mates are having issues. My computer is a laptop and connects to the internet wirelessly. I don't have a cable to try connecting straight to the router unfortunately.

Last night my internet provider (Time Warner) did an update that caused all their networks to change their names/passwords. My house mate got the new name and password and when I used it it worked fine for several hours. While in the middle of a game, my internet and my housemates internet stopped working for no reason. Theirs are fine now, mine is still having issues.

I have reset the router, restarted my computer, and looked into some DNS stuff. I've done the commands ipconfig /flushdns along with ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew. I also changed my preferred DNS server to 8.8.8.8 for my Internet Protocol (TCP/IPv4) and that did not help. (edit: also tried 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220. No luck there either)

I've tried turning off my firewalls and connecting but that doesn't help.

I'm at a loss for what else to try. Let me know what else I can do or what info needs to be posted and I will happily comply!

    Welcome to PCHF

Vogel have you tried to uininstall your wireless driver and reboot?
You will need to do this via device manager.
    Open Device Manager
Annoyances.org - Go Directly to Device Manager

Also what kind of computer do you have exactly? We can see if a driver update will help your issue provided that you have a usb stick or a blank cd/dvd.Let us know how the driver uninstall and reboot goes for you.

    Laptop is a Lenovo T510. I'm using windows 7 64 bit.

I just uninstalled the Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6200 AGN driver and upon reboot it reinstalled and I'm still having issues. There's also a Intel(R) 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection driver under Network adapters, should I try uninstalling that as well? Thanks!

Oh and I do have a USB drive :]

If the above doesnt help then please try the following.
Click on Start, All Programs, Accessories.
Command Prompt - Run As Admin

Type the following commands exactly as shown and press Enter after each one.

    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

    netsh winsock reset
    netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the computer and see if you have internet.

I assume your ssid is this one SSID 1 : U10C02276 in which case the router is a g type and your wireless card is a n type. Is there any setting on the router to set the types the same ie on the card to reduce it to g type?
Remove ipv6 a sits not needed.

using msconfig remove these from startup
    uTorrent REG_SZ "C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe" /MINIMIZED
    Steam REG_SZ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -silent
    Pando Media Booster REG_SZ C:\Program Files (x86)\Pando Networks\Media Booster\PMB.exe
    WinampAgent REG_SZ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\winampa.exe"

    they all kill networks

    stop this service
Bonjour Service as it can give dns errors

the drives for the wireless are ok you get the right ip and it picks up the networks ok

I looked on the router and couldn't find anything about g/n type. It's an Ubee router, if that helps. How would I delete ipv6?

I removed those programs and rebooted and was able to get some very spotty internet (i.e. certain sites will load but not consistently)

Thanks for trying Mal :] I appreciate all the help!

I know Samuria said the drivers were ok but go here and see if there is an update for your wireless driver I know one thing it cant hurt.
    Intel® Driver Update Utility
That is if you can even get the page to load. :)
