hello forum, this is my first post, and i have been searching around for a long time to try and find how to fix this,

this doesn't happen very regularly.. but its a real pain when it does, everything freezes, it will just repeat a noise, almost like a clicking hum..

it only seems to freeze when i'm watching soemthing on youtube.. and either playing a game, which suggested to me it may be my graphics card,

but i downloaded blue screen viewer.. and it says its something to do with windows, i am a complete novice, so any help would be greatly appriciated,

when i look in blue screen viewer it also has the codes

    xf4
    x7a
    x3b

but it always seems to be the xf4 code that causes the most issues, once again thank you!

Hmpfffff, i cant attach them for some reason, i have windows updates i need to do, but every time i try to install them it says installation failed, so i tried the NET framework in the guide you sent me, it said that failed aswell, so i really don't know what to do... i cant install any updates, and even though i'm the administrator on my computer, it wont let me upload the DMP files.. this is really starting to get on my nerves,

please, i will almost do anything to get this problem fixed, thanks for your help!

ok so i tried installing NEt framework directly, using the link in the guide on collecting the minidump files, it gave me a log on how / why it failed

These were related to a critical process being terminated. My best guess is your Symantec. I woul remove and replace with Microsoft security essentials

Also please run a system file check

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
    SFC /SCANNOW

Read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker - Windows 7 Forums

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

    My pleasure KM.

Earlier you said "it only seems to freeze when i'm watching soemthing on youtube.. and either playing a game, which suggested to me it may be my graphics card,"

    I would start there

I would look in event viewer as well

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Event viewer (local) and look for the critical errors listed in the last day, week, etc. Then go to the windows log>application tab. Finally the windows Logs>system tabs.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

ok, so i think i'm looking at the right thing, windows logs>application, and to my horror if this is the right place there are quite a few of them, i have scanned through all of them, and here are all the different types and there explinations,

all that are in RED are all the errors.... but i can only seem to find literally 1 critical error anywhere and that this one here -
