I have a friend with Windows 7 64-bit who has had issues ever since another friend started up Chrome on her computer. Since then, the computer crashes into a BSOD everytime she tries to uninstall it. She is convinced, according to advice from a computer-savvy friend, that if she gets rid of Chrome, the problem will be alleviated.

The computer also crashes when she starts it, unless she lets it set on the user login page for a while before she logs into her user account. If she does that, it don't crash, but if she doesn't wait, it crashes without fail.

Any idea how to solve these issues and get rid of Chrome once and for all?

    Hello.

User mode applications practically can't cause BSODs since they don't have access to the kernel mode memory space.

Please download this tool and save it to the desktop. Run it as admin and attach the produced archive. If the archive size is over 1MB upload it here, otherwise attach it in your next response here.

I can't offer you any assistance without those logs.
If the machine is not stable enough to collect logs, try starting in safe mode by pressing F8 key right after starting up the machine.

Ok my friend has no problem starting up in safe mode, but she clicked on the link you gave and it downloaded the file but a warning came up saying that it could harm her computer, and therefore she didn't want to click on it. Is there some other more "secure" way she can produce the logs?

She wants to know basically, how she can uninstall Chrome w/o it crashing. That's her overall question.

    Hi,

Can your friend use an uninstaller like Revo without it crashing?

And she restarted in safe mode and the only log she got was the same one I posted above.

She DL Revo and the instant it started to load up all the programs, Chrome automatically pulled itself up and her computer immeidately crashed, which is what she said happens ANY time she tries to do anything to uninstall it. It goes straight to a BSOD.

She says everything that's been recommended so far, including what's in this thread, has made her computer crash. Which it has, I have been watching it. lol

    Hi,

Well, it would be VERY beneficial to us if we had some BSOD mini-dumps to analyze as we can determine the cause of it from those dumps. And don't worry, I've been through constant BSOD's too ;)

What will the link do and what is she to do once it comes up? She would like to know all that, she needs "exact steps" because she doesn't know "computerspeak". lol
