This is after I installed Catalyst Control Centre 11.3.
I rebooted my PC and the first thing I noticed was my transparent aero theme was changed to basic.
Open windows lag when dragged like there is no GPU driver present.
I tried to open Catalyst Control Centre but it only partially opened with parts of the window missing.
My mouse lags in the top right corner of the screen.
Game exe's will load for a long time but wont run.
Mozilla firefox will open for a second then close.
    Please excuse the long post..

There is a new error in the event viewer:

Service Control Manager - The AODDriver4.0 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.

A few new warnings in event viewer:

    Relocated to BSOD forum

If you have them, Vinyc3, it would be useful to have 1 or 2 more DMP files. That enables our BSOD techs to determine if the same issue is causing the BSOD each time or if the issue is unique each time.

Do I create the DMP's consecutively or do I do something, for example reboot, between each one?

A BSOD leaves you no choice but to reboot, Vinyc3 :)

I think you're confused with another thread DCiAdmin.
If you read the previous posts you would not have found anything about a BSOD.
My problem however could be related but I havn't seen one yet.
So do you want me to upload a further two DMP's from the PCHF file collector program?

Hi Vinyc3 and a continued welcome.

We can always use the minidump files and whenever they occur please upload them.

In addition, since it is a freezing problem please check event viewer

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Go to the windows log>application tab.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.

The upload doesnt contain any minidump files. Not even all the files generated by the PCHF are included.

    Please try this method.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

    The procedure:

    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

    Thanks alot for the replies.
There are no critical events in the event viewer.
I enabled minidumps then rebooted and there still is nothing in the 'minidump' folder under windows.
I'll make it clear I am not having BSODs and not freezing. The problem is stated in the first post.

Vinyc - seems like I've created a bit of a muck here. I relocated your thread here based on the DMP attachment you had earlier in the thread AND Vger's request for you to creat a DMP file. However, I do now understand that you are not having BSODs :) Your thread has been relocated to the Graphics area of PCHF for further assistance.

Would I be safe in assuming that the new Catalyst Control Center updated your driver? Do you know if your "Clean install" mentioned in post #3 follows the recommendations in our Video Driver Clean Installation guide? Is there any change if you UNinstall Catalyst?
