Howdy Wabeard..

There is a couple reason's. My cpu is way way overclocked.. It is running at an AMD 6000+ cpu speeds. Since mine is also dual core it is whipping that core duo. Thats why I will only buy AMD (cheaper and I can overclock them much higher.) Second I have 2 western digital raptors (10,000 rpm Hard drives) in Raid 0. The pit score goes allot on your Hard drive disk input output (IO) If I use my stock settings on my cpu I get around 2500 but again that is mainly beause I am getting 160 on my disk scores and you are only getting 41, But AMD in real life and in tests just cannot be whooped by INTEL. Yours is about right though..

Also remember AMD's cpu names are tricky. Mine says its a 4200+ which means it should run at a comparable Intel @ 4.2ghz but only runs @ 2.2ghz (nominal speeds) but I got mine to a 2.9 ghz overclock.

Your stuff looks fine.. I would not worry about it.

Query... dual core ... core duo???
What are we talking about?
They're both two CPUs, yes?

This system performs extremely well on our benchmarks and appears to be among the fastest systems available!
Yet it is an older system..Just the overclock alone puts it up there. This iswhy I bu cheap and overclock it to death but I always say as long as your happy with it your fine. Dont let test or benchmarks rule your pc or like me you get addicted to overclocking lol

As for Dual core vs core duo,
The Pentuim D's is simply two Pentium 4 Prescott cpus inefficiently paired together and ran as dual core

The Core Duo's is Intel's first generation dual core processor based upon the Pentium M (a Pentium III-4 hybrid) made mostly for laptops, and is much more efficiently than Pentium D.

The Core 2 Duo's is Intel's second generation (hence, Core 2) processor made for desktops and laptops designed from the ground up to be fast while not consuming nearly as much power as previous CPUs.

Plain and simply is the arctitecture of the chip..
