Hey Sniper,

Those pics look great, the only one I could find any fault with is the one that shows you putting the memory in, maybe a higher angle so we can see more clearly where and how the memory module goes onto the board.

There is a bit of unfortunate flash refelction in the one showing the power-switch connections (pinouts)... do you have other (closer-up) shots ?? While these things --of course vary greatly from system-to-sytem-- it is one of the most questioned things for beginning builders. Great detail of your example-- with careful explanations of what goes where and why...seems a necessity to me.

Attack of the dreaded "white goop" --that stuff is useless. Can be destructive if you leave it there for too long... first thing I'd do is remove that garbage and replace it w/Arctic Silver.

I wish manufacturers wouldn' t do that . If I can replace my CPU-- I can decide what compound to use...!

Hey guys...just a small comment on the goop ****
Having worked in a PC production line before..i can safely say that building 22 computers in one day is only possible due to the fact that many Heatsink and Fan comes with the crappy white goop already applied.

PS. Those photos are fine.

sniper..do you have any problems with that chipset fan? i've replaced mine with a zalman passive cooler.

Arctic Silver stuck? It does thicken over time...but it's probably just suction effect holding the CPU on. 48 hours or 48 days-- it's not supposed to dry out-- Garhar?? What do you think?
I guess you are right regarding the goop... A-S would be impractical in an assembly-line setting.

yea...i'd go with suction...i've had artic silver not release a cpu from the Heatsink and Fan, but twisting it instead of pulling it works fine...
