Acer America has taken upon itself to announce the first two Aspire laptops that make use of Intel’s new 32nm (codename Arrandale) processors, the AS5740 and AS7740. Both Acer laptops make use of the Gemstone Blue design for a sleek and shiny look, have LED-backlit LCD screen, multi-gesture touchpads, run Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and are backed by a one-year warranty.

Beside prepping an Android-booting netbook, Acer is also gearing up to introduce an Aspire One model that is pre-loaded with Microsoft’s Windows 7 Starter. Expected to debut in Japan next week (on October 22), the Win7 netbook has a 10.1-inch screen with a native resolution of 1280×720 pixels, a 1.66 GHz Atom N280 CPU, Intel integrated graphics and a 160GB HDD.
