yeah I do but I was just infomed by my uncle (the owner of the cd) is that the CD key on that cd is a vendor Key and I guess hat vendo or w/e isnt paying microsft anymore (or however the vendor thing works) and so those CD keys no longer works (though Ive seen windows install on anothe pc with that cd and I can see the desktop aand all with a ballon in the system tray saying "this copy of windows is unegistered" other than that does that effect windows preformance in anyway?) i.e could I still install programs and surf the net even with an unregisteed version of windows?


Also when i trued to boot from the cd it bootede and the blue screen came up doing all the checks and whatnot to start installation but then when it gets to the "startuing windows" part the pc restarts then it boots from the cd again and starts the process all over is that supposed to happen?" if not I was thinkin of going to my computere right clicking on C: and going to format, doing that first (hoping it gets rid of the viruses) then try to install windows, would that work? and if so well theres still the unregistered version question

ok so i finally made some headway with booting from the cd i got to where it asked what drie i wanted to partition, then when i selected teh drive teh BSOD came up, and thats as far as I can get. So i tried to format from my computer then clicking on C: and going down to format but it says I cant format because other programs are running (or somethin like that, most likely its teh viruses that are running), is there any way to force it to format even with stuff running?

well i managed too get the formatting started (fukll format not quick) so now lets hope the BSOD doesnt pop up during it

nope no luck there BSOD popped up during 7% of teh format, so cant formnat it either and Im guessing since the disk got 7% formatted it will no longer boot up to windows either anymore now right?

Sounds to me like the hard drive is dead but more importantly what disk are you trying to reinstall with?

What does it say on the disk?

heh my HDD got killed by spayware fun -_- but what disk am I using? windows XP
