The Best AntiSpyware software
Hey people!
I have Spybot S&D on my PC but I don't really like it because it doesn't have real-time protection. As a firewall, I have PC Tools Firewall Plus and as an antivirus, I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.
(I'm on Windows Vista)
I really want to replace my antispyware program while keeping the others. What can you suggest? It doesn't have to be freeware, just the BEST protection possible!
Thanks

Re: The Best AntiSpyware software
Spybot does have real-time protection.
Spybot S&D (Teatimer)
- Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
- If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
- On the left hand side, Click on Tools
- Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
- Check "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
- Restart your computer.

Well, even with TeaTimer enabled, when I scan the computer for spyware, I always find new ones. But thanks anyway

Re: The Best AntiSpyware software
Are you sure they aren't just normal internet cookies that Spybot S&D is detecting? Cookies are not spyware per se. Please nevertheless carry out joeyfine's suggestions to run Spybot S&D in Safe Mode. That will help lots if my guess about the cookies is wrong.

Re: The Best AntiSpyware software
Is the real-time protection offered by Spybot S&D any good? I just started to use this feature

Re: The Best AntiSpyware software
Talking about Spybot S&D's TeaTimer feature?
TeaTimer is worth installing, but should not imo be your only protection. There are some who have tested TeaTimer feature, and found it to be lacking in a few areas. Nevertheless, it can and should still be used.

Re: The Best AntiSpyware software
There are other free and powerful anti-spyware programs available...you don't have to buy them unless absolutely necessary...some examples are Ad-Aware, SUPERAntiSpyware, AVG AntiSpyware. Download links are here:
