After searching thru a few posts here, I am now trying to download the "Comodo" I think software; I have not deleted my AVG though....The AVG was serving well until I ran into the update problem there....Does it matter that I just download the Comodo and leave the AVG alone for now. I did notice while trying the Comodo download it stated something about another 3rd party or something....That's when I closed and decided to post here for further instructions.

Which is better anyway...The AVG or the Comodo.....I am not picky, I simply need protection...but I have never ran into a update problem as described here in my original post.... and thanks in advance.

Hi there, please follow the Pre Work link in my signature and post back the resulting logs as attachments for our security team to look at. . Also AVG ant virus is an anti virus product where as Comodo is a Firewall product.

Comodo have many free software available, including bioclean (which is meant to detect and remove disguised trojans once they activate), an anti virus program and an anti spyware program. Their firewall is quite good i think (as I am only a novice when it comes to this stuff), as I wouldn't have noticed the infection I am currently seeking help with if it weren't for it alerting me that certain applications were being used as a screen for malware to access the internet. Even though I have what is meant to be one of the best free antivirus programs - antivir personal pro (which seems to have been disabled by the infection I have), super anti spyware, Comodo bioclean (which is doing nothing even though it is meant to stop infections such as these), and ad-aware se.
