I'm not really sure how best to describe it, but sometimes when I run the mouse cursor over my taskbar, it takes a few seconds for the bar to respond. Sometimes the cursor freezes to the length/width adjuster, but only when it's over the taskbar. I've scanned my pc several times with Avast and Bitdefender, and have removed a huge amount of trojans, viruses, etc. but all to no avail. It still does this!! It's really annoying, because it inhibits my ability to easily change from one window to another, and isn't that the point of Windows? I've also noticed that my computer's performance has been chugging. I know that both of these problems are happening because my
CPU is being used up to almost 100% sometimes. I've done everything I can think of to cure this. I've uninstalled around 10 gigs of stuff off the hdd, and as stated above, have scanned my pc many times. Avast no longer picks up any viruses, so I think it's done all it can for now. Bit defender has picked stuff up too, but nothing I do seems to work. I'm going to try to get rid of more resident apps, but if you know of anything else I could try, I would be most grateful!!
P.S. I've tried system restore as well. Everything short of formatting the hdd
