Default [Resolved] Hidden viruses in a program?

Sorry if it's in the wrong section, couldn't find the right one.

Anyway, I recently got a program, and I've got some mixed reviews.

Some people say it's a virus, trojans, etc. But, some say it works just fine and all.

I've experienced a similar time, where Jotti said it was clean, but I still ended up getting a virus!

So, I'm a little paranoid now..

I scanned with Jotti, 'twas clean. So, how would I check if it's actually a virus or not?

Thanks.

I'd rather not say because of the PCHF rules.

Not, of course because it's naughty, though. Heh.

EDIT : Sorry. No mean to be rude and such, it's just I have to follow the PCHF rules. I'd just like to know how to do this. Once again, not to be rude, but I'd just like to know how to do this for myself in future situations.

Well...the credibility of reviews depends on the author and the website...

For example, I would trust the editor review of a popular website (say download.com or softpedia.com) much more than single user reviews. If a search on Google turns out links to forums/webgroups discussing the product, I would head there too.

Jotti or any other file-scanner will help too, though not always.

If it is a downloaded program from a P2P program most likely is a virus with in the files.
