May i know are there any commerical diagnostic tools to determine the stability of win xp pro sp 2? i have experienced frequent hangs, and i have sought help from the hardware counterpart in this forum. I have tested the HDD, RAM but i could not derive a conclusion. The problem i face is whenever i use a few programs in conjuction, my computer would just hang even though i have 1gb of ram. Thus i have come to a decision to test out the OS whether is it the real culprit behind all this malfunctions. This hanging of computer has plagued my computer for weeks without a solution and it time-consuming to rectify without any assistance. Thus i hope that i could come up with a permanent solution to address this.

If you do not believe that your hardware is at fault. Which by your description, it is fairly unlikely. Click on my prework link, follow the steps, and post your results. One of our PC Security staff members will take a look and see if you have malicious software plaguing your computer.
