I have been running Spybot for some months with no problems, but recently I started getting "no disk"error messages, so I downloaded AVGas (on PCHF's recommendation),Installed it and this also gives the same "no disk" error message.

lets try this for hecks sake....

If it works we can work around it...

Clcik "Start" Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup group" on the general page.

Done that Merlin, (although I got an error message from msconfig saying "An Access Denied error has been returned while atempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an administrator account to make the specified changes"......I am logged on as the Admimistrator).
I have run Spybot and not received the "No Disk" message I can also open AVGas without getting the same message...

Now I suppose it's a game of trial and error to find which of the services is causing this?

Is it possible that Zonealarm could be the culprit?

If it is how do I sort it?

That happens with Zone Alarm's background protection service--if you disable Zone Alarm's "truevector" service from Msconfig you should be able avoid this essage
