Default Hosts File

Hi again Guys. . . .
Just wondering what you guys views are on the Hosts file,, like do ya use your
own personally compiled file or just rely on summat like MVPS to do the job...
I've just recently started to use HostsXpert and would like your views on that too.
And finally is it better/safer to re-map the path to your Hosts file through a different
route than the standard route/path..
Just considering my options,, Lol...
Thanks for any replies. . . .

I've never touched it on my machine, and the only time I ever need to is on remote machines that are remoting in via vpn and need to have network access to certain servers at work. As for a home machine, I've never touched the thing, just let windows do it's thing. Just my two cents worth.
