Hello Cutter

Welcome to PC Help Forums

Do yourself an enormous favour and, if you can, back your personal files up now.
It sounds like your hdd is on it way out.
What happened to the copy of XP that was installed on the system in the beginning?

first question would be why do you have your pc tech's OS on your pc?

regardless, bad blocks are generally (as in always) unfixable, and the first sign of a hard drive that is dying. I would follow Wolfey's advice and get your personal data off as fast as you can.

Other than that, I am not too sure of how much advice we can give, legally.
