Nice effort there Bugsey. While you're at it, you may like to add: ivideocodec, LightCodec.

So everyone, if you go to a website to view a video and it asks you to install something, be cautious.

The easiest solution is to plain old not download codecs that ask you to download them (or anything for that matter really). I have no anti-virus for a simple reason, I strongely belive in formatting, and it is plain to see when a file is bogus or not. Do not download files that you were not looking for. And perhaps getting porn from a P2P program might be a better idea.

Thanks for those 2 Chia .

Brad i understand where you're coming from but you can get people who don't know how to format or even what a Anti-virus & Firewall is! , then one day a website could ask them to install a Codec and then they may remember seeing a list on Pchelpforum they then reread the list and see it's a fake Codec and don't download it.

And also thanks Henry & Upgrader! .

Nice one bugs! A lot of people don't know what are good codecs or bad codecs, or even what a codec is! All they want to do is play the file they just downloaded! Formatting when things go wrong isn't a good option for many people, like Bugsey said, for people who don't know how to format in the first place, and for others like myself, who have a few complicated installs with Perl and Oracle, I personally would rather prevent the problem rather than spend the next week rebuilding everything. Every little helps me thinks!
