Hya Jimmy.

What made you think you had a Smitfraud infection, and what problems did the tool correct and how? There was, and is, no evidence of a Smitfraud infection present in your logs.

I am not sure. I was having a problem with bargainbuddy not clearing from my hkey_user...kept coming up on my ad-aware scan after i would delete it using as-aware. in reasearching google on how to remove bargainbuddy...i could not find my particular bargainbuddy in my add/remove or what it was bundled with. there just kept popping up an entry in the registry upon ad-aware scanning. so, one article said something about running smitfraudfix. i then used it and wasn;t sure why or if i should have. i don;t know what it is. i know that was wrong. but i ran it again recently just as a search and got the results i posted, but wasn;t sure what they meant. i thought smitfraudfix was a program to fix registry problems in general...but that is not the case?

Nope, the Smitfraudfix is a special tool to remove the Smitfraud family of infections, let's just call them "fake anti spyware programs, fake codecs and some of there nasty friends" to keep it simple.
