Hya Dogbiscuit.

If possible, first update your pc to SP1 (not SP2 untill we are sure your pc is clean) and then follow the instructions in the 'Prework' link below in my sig, and then post a new HJT log plus the Ewido log please.

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...p1a_en_x86.exe

Also, what are the symptoms of your problems?

Hi Joe, sorry about the late reply. It's my brother's machine and it's taken a while for us to be in the same place at the same time.

He switched to broadband a couple of weeks back. Since then he got an AVG message of a virus assault. A few days later the pc was very sluggish and then started freezing completely. So, scanned with AVG, ad-aware & spybot. AVG was clean but ad-aware & spybot picked up and removed a few bits of spyware. It started functioning ok again but his sygate firewall seems to have reset itself and is asking for aproval/denial of everything. Could this be because he changed his service provider?

Note that when he switched to broadband the installation came with Blueyonder PC guard which claims to protect against everything. He did not complete the installation of this so it shouldnt be functioning.
So to summarize, I think the symptoms were the result of either: a virus, some spyware, or a software conflict?
Whats it looking like to you? How are these logs?

Looks like the Blueyonder software is fully running, next to Sygate and AVG.

I would recommend to uninstall Blueyonder as it is very likey conflicting with the other security software and slowing down his pc.

Also you didn't update windows to SP1 yet?

Right thanks Joe. We'll have a look at this pc guard software and see if we can remove it. Apart from that do the logs look ok? That was my main concern, that there was maybe a nasty lurking after the virus.

Right the problems are still there and we can't uninstall PC guard. So we decided to remove all the other security AVG/ Sygate/ etc so that just PC gaurd is running and the symptoms persist. PC is ok untill we connect to the internet and then it goes sluggish, won't open certain sites, crashes and and disconnects and often won't even connect.
I have been reading forums where many other people have been suffering the same problems since installing pc guard. And it won't uninstall. Can't remove it using add/remove, not even in safe mode. How can we get rid of it?
