Default [Answered] Just a yes or no question.

I was searching through my documents folders and found a file named julia-cutecandy that was an MS-DOS application and 20kb big. I clicked it and it opened a DOS app, then immediately said it had performed an illegal operation and closed. Could this have been a virus? I deleted the file.

It was in a folder that I use for pictures, but occasionally I may download something and randomly place it in a folder for use. Could it have just been an unrecognizeable picture/app?

Hi there & welcome to PC Help Forum.

Do you have an anti-virus program installed and running and is it up to date?

Yes, my computer is very-well protected.

To quote Joe that helped me in the past.

"Looks like youre pc is good protected , you have an firewall , AV , malware protection , and windows seems to be updated. So i doubt that that site could infect youre pc.

Then I was just freaking out over nothing. I hope I am now, too. Sorry for wasting your time if I am, but also thanks for taking the time to go over this with me.

Will do. Thanks, mate.

Just, ugh, I've had so many problems with computers in the past that any minor possible breech of it freaks me out. X_x
