Hi everyone, as you would expect I am new and already I need someone's help here so I have no time for introduction just yet. Anyways, there's this strange spyware in my PC called CoolWeb Toolbar and I can't seem to get rid of the little bugger. Well, at first whenever I run Internet Explorer, the latest one for XP Home, I would hit File, then open and when I type out the website and hit okay or hit enter, it would freeze and I would have to cancel the task. That's when I decided to run my AVG anti-Virus and it found nothing. I ran Yahoo Anti-Spy and it sees it as a Hijacker and when I get rid of it, it has to restart my PC. but when I rebooted the PC and I go to scan with Yahoo Anti-Spy, it still sees the hijacker software in there. So I tried the same proceedure but rather than resetting it, I go and scan for it again and it sees the same hijacker program, as if it doesn't get rid of it. I tried to run Lavasoft's Ad-Aware but it doesn't find it in there. I eve tried using Spybot Search and Destroy, but then it gives me the error message that it couldn't delete it. It lisst the directory where it's at, which is C:\program files\toolbar but when I go to delete the directory, it says "Cannot delete directory: Access is denied". I went and downloaded Windows Defender Beta but it doesn't find the Hijacker either. I am stuck in a rutt and I don't want to reinstall the Operating System, unless there's a way to reinstall Internet Explorer but when i go to download it off the net it says that it cannot install becasue I already have a newer version. Can anyone help me out with this problem, or is there any way I can uninstall and reinstall Internet Explorer 6?

Lets have a look , first please download and run Cwshredder:

And after that please follow the instructions in the "Prework" link below in my sig , and post the two resulting log files for me to check.

Thanks Joe5 for the help. However I went and ran that Cwshredder program as well. But the thing is it didn't find a trace of it in my PC. Strange, i know. And too bad too. I was really sure that it would fix the problem, or so I thought. Oh well. Should I still get you that log file?
