Default windows 2000 having a strange nameless popup, games minimize, scrnsvr drops

hi everyone,

ive been having this issue with my windows 2000 PC for quite sometime now, over a year actually, it hasnt been that big of a problem, but in the last couple months its become so unbareable with playing games i cant stand it anymore.

ive tried several ways to eliminate it, but it doesnt show up on any virus scanner, adware or spyware removal program. ive searched for answers but have found none.

what happens with this particular 'problem' is that every 5-10 minutes a small nameless popup or window will appear in my taskbar for about a second and then go away, harmless to the average user, but it will minimize several of the computer games i play. most of these games will lock up or crash when minimized. i want it gone. also my screen saver will also stop when this happens. focus will also be taken away from the particular window you were working in at the time too. ive tried almost everything and have even shut down everything to stop it. nothing seems to work.

the small popup or empty window that shows up in the task bar for that brief second simply has no name and has a windows symbol or icon for its small graphic. i even tried formatting, so dont ask, lol

if anyone here can help me fix the problem, id literally buy you steak and lobster dinner in person, ha ha

please help me rid my computer of this very annoying and gaming-disruptive problem. thanks

heres a hijackthis log file, i really cant see how its going to help, ive been looking for this little POS for several months, ive also recently scanned my computer using your recommended tools. not to sound ungenerous, its just i feel as if ive tried everything and i cant even figure out the name of this problem.

anywhere here is a hijackthis log, i hope its of some use to perhaps a more trained eye.

i have the suspicion that this popup might be java related.

thanks

We'll see what the "Malware Pitbulls" have to say when they get online

Hey Guys,

@Necrocyde, can you please post the ewido log from the scan you ran, I would like to see what it found before we begin the fix. You most definitely are infected with malware, but it is best to try removing it properly, which is why I would like to see the ewido log.

Also, can you please download Spy Sweeper from my signature, install and update it, and download Unhackme to your desktop.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW
