Thanks for the help again..but absolutely nothing seems to work, though im sure there is a way somewhere...whenever i try to remove them manually it says that it cant read the source file or disk. Ill try the hackthis prog but i doubt it employs any techniques any different to the several already suggested on here...its just like having a constant itch you cant get at, incredibly annoying..

im actually thinking of formatting the drive since its not on the same hard drive as my OS, however the hard drive it is on is a System disk and wont allow me to format it...erm...so how do i do that then? im guessing it doesnt allow me to do it because there's some important stuff hidden on there somewhere, though i cant seem it in windows, but can i format it anyway? possibly from a boot disk floppy, Fdisk?

well, if you have fat file system, you can use windows 98 boot disk, if you have ntfs file system, you should be able to use some sort of ntfs boot disk, however i personally have no experience with ntfs boot disks, so i cant tell you how to do it. im sure someone will know.

thanks, ive converted my drives to ntfs, but im not sure if the XP boot disk has progs like FDISK, and besides using the CD doesnt seem to allow me to reformat the drive saying that its stores vital files on that drive and cant erase them...anyway, im gonna try joe's prog first, then its wipe time, ive had enough of those four damn pesky files, grrrrrr.

tried the free version of that program, but it didnt work, came up with the same message about not being able to read the file or disk due to syntax error. i think im going to have to fomat the drive, im sure those files are malware of some shape or form, ive started having a few problems with XP ever since they appeared.
