Hi, helped my parents get/set up their new XP, and one day later it got infected with SpySherriff. It was "supposed" to be protected by a program that will go unmentioned...I've since tried to get rid of it with AVG and Adaware (what I have on my own computer), but like I've been reading is happening to others, it just keeps recreating itself, and I can't get rid of it. I'm used to my dinosaur Windows 98, so I'm having a difficult time understanding how to get the system logs program to run.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated! I am only here for another day, and need to get this resolved so my parents can use their new computer.

Can you start by clicking the "prework" link in my signature and we can get started to get rid of SpySherrif and just in case other things are there as well.

Please dont post incorrect , or atleast very incomplete info..

how was that incorrect or incomplete? it was a link to a page detailing exactly how to remove spysheriff, which was what he said his problem was.

well, i assume u mean incomplete as in it only removed spysheriff, and not other spyware, so i see your point, but still, i was just trying to help a brother out.

i also realize that it was on another forum, and not yours, but you dont get commission do ya? lol
