Default 2,648 viruses

i have a friends computer...it stopped NA from running, he bought MaCafee online but couldnt install it. Adaware found so many problems it froze. I stopped it after 120 and cleaned that many. Then I was able to install avg, updated it and it found 6 trojans 20 other hijackers etc, and 30 000 traces and then froze.
I installed spy sweeper it found more trojans and cleaned them. So i put the computer back on the internet and it ran ok but a few trogans kept being found so i bought the computer home with me. Today AVG found 2,948 viruses and it has been heeling all day. At the same time spysweeper found 60 plus items trying to load in the start up. It seems to deleted all but then finds them again
this is the third time i select all and remove.
I am now waiting to see if they come back..
My questions are:
AVG valt is full do I remove the items...a lot of the files are from system32 dir
There are 6 usuers do i have to scan each one...each is a computer admin.
The computer is slow so i cant really do to much. AVG scanned all night and took 5 hoours to heal the 2,000 files.
Is seems like the the tojans are duplicating themselves as they get removed.
I will try to install hijackthis...spysweeper keeps finding pages of stuff loading in the startup
help!

Hya CJ , sounds like mayor problems overthere.. Yes , you would have to clean every account on there separete.

And you can empty the AVG's vault , but by the sound of it that pc is unbelievebly infected and could proove to be impossible to clean im afraid.

You could try to run stinger and one or more online AV scans , and then try the "Prework" instructions , all links below. But it would have to be done in each account and you would need to post the logs from each account.

Default still cleaning

thanks...i am working in safe mode now.
I used ccleaner, then adaware and changed it to delete rather then Quar. and stopped it after 1000 entries or so ...and it does not freeze that way.
I emptied AVG vault.
I ran cwshredder and it cleaned a few out.
It seems that it is ostly VX2 CWS and 180search
and it found most of the thousand files in c:\windows\ehome and debug and apppatch dirs.

Thanks for the advice and the bad news that i have to clean every user...i think i might delete the users for now and i think it will let me save the files when i do that..

Did you install Ad Aware's VX2 plugin?

If not , have a look here:

Ccleaner can't always remove everything , like when files are in use. It is also possible that new files get generated everytime.. but that plugin should help alot as you can read on that page.
