Default mouse and keyboard trouble

Recently I had been downloading numerous files while surfing the Internet when my computer began to slow, which was normal, but out of the blue it froze or seemed to freeze up I noticed that I could still use my keyboard which was odd so I just restarted my PC.

After my computer came back on both my mouse and keyboard were totally screwed up, on my mouse I can only use the left button but it acts like it was the right button but still wont let me move windows that are open or click on certain links such as installation OK's, on my keyboard I can use the alt button numbers and letters but not the enter button.

after all this i restarted my PC again but used the HP recovery feature bringing my system to a fresh start but as soon as windows signed on i was bombarded with fake spyware and virus warnings all these after i recovered my PC, i fiddled around wit the still wacky controls until i managed to download avg free virus scanner (because my virus scanner wont open) after a long scan it brought back no results so I went in search of a spyware scanner (again because the one I had wouldn't open) I finally managed to get hold of ewido security suite ran it and it began to find things, as the scanner popped up windows telling me it had found things I couldn't delete due to the fact my mouse and keyboard had been over run...

Sorry for the long post but I am baffled at this any help will be appreciated!

Hi sir you seem to be hit!
It appears your problem started after you downloaded some files from the internet. This means that you have a software problem, try reversing/uninstalling the files you downloaded. You will have to scan your computer for virus using unti-virus software or ##removed##

Mod edit:
Thanks for trying to help but leave those drastic measures as a last option please.

:-) Hi Averyvloren,

Welcome to PCHF. We have some terrific folks on this site, I am sure that we can get you back up and running.

Thanks for helping Predator, but I am hoping we can address the malware without re-installing windows.

Avery, can you boot into Safe Mode? (as you boot up, you keep tapping on the F8 key) when you get to the menu, use your arrow keys to go up to and choose safemode. (I'll bet your Enter key on the keyboard works at this point :wink

Once in Safe Mode, can you please test your mouse functionality, and keyboard functions. Also, even if your mouse is not working if you would please run ewido again, if your mouse doesn't work you may have to use the Tab key to move through fields in order to select the objeect found, at this point, I would select Fix all objects found, if your regular Enter key still isn't working, try the Enter key on your number keys section. Save the log to your desktop and post it back here.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

Is there a way to reinstall or fix the mouse and keyboard using the window CD-ROM?
