Why not try to update to service pack 2 first?

Otherwise do you have a Windows XP CD?

If not, because you own a HP machine you might have the following installed:

Ok this is too strange... I've ran every spyware, adware, worm, trojan, virus scanner out there with no luck I've done the recovery option on my computer and even the Destructive Recovery option lost half of my data and after all that even after the Destructive Recovery which deletes everything its still there...

What else could this be?...

With Destructive Recovery you mean restore youre pc as if it just came out of the factory ?

Did you install any drivers for the mouse or keyboard and also do you have more then one HD/partition?

And are the mouse and keyboard "connected", like do they share a reciever or is the mouse directly connected to the keyboard?
And if they are plugged in usb ports then try a diferent port.

Have you upgraded to service pack 2 yet?

If not then I recommend that you do so cause it has extra security features including the windows firewall.
