What is the difference between the 3 of these? Also, I had a pc prob that some guy ( i forget his name) helped me fix. : He said I had mal ware. Before I signed up for the site, some program added a user to my windows software. Was that a form of Mal ware?

Spyware is defined as a peice of software that monitors your surfing habits, harvests data, etc without your permission.

Adware is defined as a peice of software that displays pop-ups or other adveritisements on your computer without your permission. A form of adware would be the programs that most computer vendors use to alert you to deals they are offering.

Malware is the previous two and anything else that installs itsself on your computer or performs actions without your permission.

Yes, the program that added a user account to your computer would be considered malware unless you gave it permission to do that.

Panache and others.

Have you ever visited Webopedia? http://www.webopedia.com/.

Panache, have you checked your messages lately.? Not these posts but the private messages.? Look at the top of this page just under the 'PC Help Forum.com' title.? Under the section titled 'User Info & Key Stats' on the left hand side by your avatar.? I wrote you a message some time ago and have heard nothing? ?:cry (? :-D? :-D ).? Not that it matters all that much, it was just a suggestion I had offered.

Later

Rod-O-Matic
