Can anyone help? Im new to pcs!!

My pc has gone slow, and i have a permanant message that says.... ?WINDOWS - NO DISK

THERE IS NO DISK IN THE DRIVE. ?PLEASE INSERT A DISK.

Do you have a removable drive, such as an Iomega Zip drive, configured as drive letter C:/

Hi, thanks for reply. Yes as soon as i turn the pc on that message comes up. I can drag it to the bottom of the screen but its a pain!! I dont have a removable drive. I have 2 printers, a midi keyboard and an audio interface for music recording.

I have a feeling that a uninstall or an install was interupted or the disc removed before it was done and that its still trying to finish its job but needs a cd for that.

Can you remember when it started? Did you just install or removed something before it started? Try just putting different cd's that you have used lately in youre drive and press enter or ok , whatever that error has on it. Start with youre windows disc.

Its been like that for ages, puttind a disk in wont move it. It has changed now though, it says "Autorun.exe no disk" There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive E.

Can you have a look at Start / run / >type in< msconfig / go to the startup tab and list what you see there? (or take screen shot of it)
Maybe something shows up there. But im pretty sure its looking for a specific disc.
