Default [Pending] God am I having problems with Norton Firewall.constant Alerts.Help!

Hello All.
God am I having problems with Norton Firewall.
I keep getting Program Control Alerts. They are from different I.P.s and are turning up every 5 to 10 mins or so.
I am wondering if they are someone attacking my computer or am I blocking vital programs.
They are all UDP or TCP Inbound (don't ask me what this means!).
I have noticed my program control is blocking a lot of tmp files,e.g. is-108QQ.tmp.Is this causing the problem?
My general rule part of the firewall is set to block inbound UDP and TCP.could this be the problem.
If it is a hacker or other scumbag. :
Is there anyway to remove the alerts?
I have tried unticking the notify me when intrusion detection blocks connections box but they still pop up with annoying regularity.
If anyone could help I would be so happy.
Heres hoping you can help.
Lodx

It sounds like you may have spyware on your machine:

Are you running any antispyware software?

If not click on "Handy Tools" in my signature and install and run Microsoft Antispyware.

Also once you have done that install Hijackthis and post the log onto the forum, we can then check it out and help you to remove these nasties.

And also clean up youre temp files since the alerts seem to be coming from there:

empty the C:\windows\prefetch folder ,
empty the c:\windows\temp folder ,
empty the C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp folder ,
empty the C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files folder EXCEPT the content.ie5 folder (may be hidden).
(replace administrator with youre user name) and (replace windows with winnt if needed)

And close all instances of IE and OE ,then go to: Control Panel / Internet Options / General tab ,
Click the "Delete Files" button.
When prompted place a check in: "Delete all offline content", click OK. This removes the junk files such as downloaded files, zero byte files created by Outlook Express and many other hidden files that reside in your cache.

Hi Again,
I will try all suggestions.
The annoying thing is that I regulary update and run Spybot,Ad-Aware,Spywareblaster and Swat-It.(And Norton AV as well).
Will get back to you when I have tried out the things you suggested.
Thanks
