Question [Answered] About all these Spyware/Adware tools

Greetings.

Now that I have collected all these programs the monitor and/or clean out the Spyware/Adware/Trojans etc, I was wondering if they all should be in the System Tray together. In my case I think that would be: Spy Sweeper, AdWatch, Trojan Guard, SpyBot Resident, McAfee Virus Scan and future additions (M$ Spyware - Beta and so on).

I guess the question is: Do I need/want all my Spyware programs doing bacically the same thing together at the same time? Would it be better to use 1 or 2 and run the programs after I finish my on-line time. I even saw a info-mercial trying to promote the benenfits of using their Spyware tool. I think we will be spending more time checking for the 'Devil' then the amount of time spent on-line.

I look forward to all your opinions.

Later

Default Re: About all these Spyware/Adware tools

It would be best to select one of each i.e. one spy/ad shield , one AV , one anti worm/trojan enz.

But do you also have a decent(non windows) firewall? I myself only have an AV and firewall running , nothing more.
I scan my pc every now and then with a bunch of different progs but i almost never get any mal-ware on my sys.

Personally, I stick with a good firewall - Sygate, AVG Anti-virus and MS Anti-Spyware (previously used Spysweeper). All threats neutralized thru all entry points - I have had nothing bad of note on my PC for years.?
