I don't know if this is the kind of thread that should be on here, but, I figured with loads of members who know their stuff on sound cards reading this part of the forum, they could perhaps help me out a little and point me the right direction.

I am looking to find out about future developments for sound cards. What sound cards of tomorrow could have that they don't have right now. I have done quite a lot of searching on the web, but, information seems pretty outdated and developments they go on about, have already happened

I apologise if this isn't the type of thread allowed on the forum, but, any information would be greatly appreciated and I can further my research

At the end of the day even a 6:1 card won't come anywhere near the sound quality you'd get by running the sound through a dedicated Hi Fi amplifier and preferably one that's THX certified like this baby here.

Thank you for the reply. That certainly is a beast of a machine. Kinda a lot of money though, hehe xD

Regarding the sound cards though, do you know of any new technologies or developments that are being talked about involving sound cards?

This area is quite vast to nail down to a single discussion taking place but you could have a look at this.
