Default Random Statick

Alright the card is Sound Blaster Audigy Se and the issue is threw out the time im on my pc, the sound will have static in it for any given amount of time, at very random times. Nothing more i can say about it, altho pauseing music doesnt make it go away.

and the only thing that seems to do the trick sometimes, is to change what im doing on the pc, such as bring up a new window, or minimize or bring it back up

i belive drivers are updated, and i know its hooked up properly.

And its not my speakers.

Hi

Is it possible that high bit rates, increasing the CPU workload produce that effect?

Also (but not that likely): Is the O/B sound on auto or disabled?

Change the O/B sound option to "Disabled" and see what happens, but BEFORE you do that, check out this:

Is the static audible from the headphones?
Is the static audible when ONLY the headphones are connected?

It may not be related, however, except from the secure connection, it may be a sort on the fan itself.

Lint is actually wool, and when you rub it on plastic (the fan) can generate static electricity, which when discharged...
