Good afternoon,

I currently use a Plantronics DSP 500 headset which comes with an inbuilt sound card. My sound has gone fuzzy and I wasn't sure if this was due to the headset coming to the end of it's life or there was something wrong with my settings/PC.

I've reformatted my PC but i've not installed any sound drivers (i've not had to before) are there any drivers that I would need for the USB sound card or should it just be plug and play therefore the headset is on it's last legs?

I can hear the sound but it just comes out very fuzzy and distorted.

Any help or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I currently run XP home and made the PC myself. The mobo is a MSI K8N SLI if that helps at all.

Hello Sean and welcome to PC Help Forum.

After a reformat you realy need to install drivers for all hardware.

Update your drivers.

Due to it being a USB sound card i'm not sure that there should be any drivers for it? Looking on the manufactures website i'm unable to find any drivers for the headset. Is there, for example, a sound driver bundle I can download much like a video codec pack?

Hi Sean you would need to download drivers for your actuall computer from manufaturers website and may have to use device manager to install some of them.
