I would be grateful if you would help in this problem.

I recently formatted the computer. I used to record computer sounds (a simple stupid example: recording the sound that the MSN Messenger makes when someone signs in). Another clear example is recording audio from YouTube. I always used Magic Music Workshop, under recording settings: recording device as WAVE. Basically, before i formatted the computer, when i press record, all the sound that the computer plays is recorded (even when someone signs in MSN MEssenger, the sound is also recorded).

The problem is that now that i re-formatted the pc and reinstalled this program, and another program (to check whether the same problem repeats), when i press RECORD (to record all the wave sounds by the pc), the computer sound mutes (when i press play in Youtube, the video slows down and no sound is heared, even when i press play in the Windows Media Player). Also, the computer really slows down immediately.

Can you please help me in solving this problem.

What is make and model of your computer and what operating system are you using?

Hello,I need complete manufacturers name and model number of your computer and I will try and get you the drivers to download.Is that home or pro?

oh sorry. to tell you the truth i don't know the exact details about the computer, because a friend of mine "built up" my computer. However, i will ask him, and as soon as i have the necessarily info, i will reply.

Ahhh ok well ask him make and model of your mainboard so we can go to manufacturers website and get them drivers.

Or go to Belarc.com and download and run there advisor this will give us the make of mainboard.

Are you using onboard sound or a PCI sound card?
