I thought that is what I did. I went into device manager, clicked on my soundcard, and chose uninstall. It gave me an option to keep the drivers or delete them when I did this.

The first time I kept the drivers and it re-installed on startup automatically.

The second time I chose to delete the drivers and it searched for awhile on start up, but then quit. None of the outputs would would produce sound at this point, my external speakers were silent. I then connected to the internet and used device manager to download and install from the online search.

Is there something else I should have done instead? Sorry if I misunderstand what you meant.

Well we have tried all the usaly fix,s.Did you try speakers on another computer?
If they work on another pc then the problem is your sound card.
Again if you try diffrent speakers on your pc and they are having same problems then again I say its problem with sound card.
