Hi

I got a new PC over a year ago and everything was fine until last month.
My sound only works for about 5 minutes once the PC has been reset or switched on.
I have windows vista ultimate and have been reading others have had problems as well.
The mic is on the motherboard which is Asus M2V motherboard.

I have downloaded all the drivers I can find for realtek for vista, installed other codec packs but nothing works and keeps the sound working.

Does anyone have a solution?

If I bought a separate soundcard would that solve the problem?

Hi johnnyk36. I apoligize for the delay. Yes, buying a dedicated sound card may solve the problem. Vista has so many compatability issues it boggles the mind. First though, lets run a few tests. It might be a bug. Please follow the prework in my signature, and post it in the appropriate section, and i will have one of the security staff take a look for you. then we can try another sound card.
