Hey I am a new member and have to say this is the most organized user friendly forum I have ever come across!
I just finished my first build. It was originally my Compaq Gaming X that needed a makeover. It was lagging with online games and a new render program. So a new
mobo, graphics card, AMD
cpu, and power supply takes its place.
With the new setup I kept the Creative sound card and front panel connector that originally came with the hp gaming X.
The new asus
mobo comes installed with a adi 1988b HD audio codec (not sure what all that means but it works when speakers are connected.)
Then I installed the Creative driver discs and set it as the default in the audio settings. Now I am getting no sound out of the rear analog connections on the back of my
mobo. So I hooked a set of headphones up to the front creative connector and DO get sound.
Did I miss a connection or something? The
mobo has a AAFP and CD connections that arent hooked up to anything- but I dont remember the old setup connecting to the
mobo besides the PCI1 port but i cant recall for sure. Stuck and not sure what to do. Maybe a setup in bios? Thanks for your help.
