Dear Sir/Madam,

I have recently bought a Pioneer headset. The problem is that although the headphones are working properly, the microphone is not functioning.
For example, when I try to start an audio conversation with MSN Messenger, the other contact does not hear me speak. (However, it’s strange that, when I start an audio conversation, and at the same time I play songs with Windows Media Player, the other contact hears the songs…but not my voice).
I use C-Media as sound input.
I would be grateful if you would help me resolve my problem.

Hello Stephen,

Try this...Right click on the speaker in your system tray. Click Open Volume Controls. Click Option. Then click Advanced Controls. Now click Properties. Make sure the Playback option is checked then scroll down to Mic Volume and put a check by that. Now you should have a Mic Volume slider. It should have an Advanced button on it. Click the Advanced button. At the bottom of the dialogue box you will see Microphone Boost. Make sure that is checked. Click ok. That should do it...

I tried those steps, but still the microphone is not working. However this time, when in an audio conversation, the other contact still hears what I am listening (ex: the songs i play on the pc, the sound of the msn messenger conversation, etc), and with an echo.

Is there a mute switch and volume control on the headset? Also make sure the plug is seated good.
