Default [Answered] Sound card makes a difference?

Hey, I'm thinking of getting a sound card. Would it really make a difference? I'm using onboard sound at the moment.

These 2 are the ones I'm thinking of getting:

1. Creative Sound Blaster 5.1
2. Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value Sound Card 7.1

Which is better?

Also, does anyone own or tried a Steelseries Steelsound 3H Gaming Headset? If so, is it good?
Left side of my logitech 350 USB doesn't have sound anymore.

Thanks!

hi toz, welcome to pchf! We will try to answer your question. Can you please provide links to the particular models of sound card? And yes, it does make a difference. Some use the CPU to power the sound processing, and can reduce performance. Like Onboard does. Not to mention Dedicated cards as a general rule have better sound

1. Sound Blaster 5.1 - Delivers better quality audio than basic motherboard solutions
2. Sound Blaster Audigy Value

I'm pretty sure those are the correct links. I'm going to order 1 of them from umart.com.au

I would go with the Audigy Value myself.
