Sound etc - No sound... "select audio device" grayed out... posted in the Hardware forums; My brother's PC recently reformatted, and now it has no sound. I checked the driver, and it looks like it's installed properly. I even re-installed it, but it's no good. ...

Default No sound... "select audio device" grayed out...

My brother's PC recently reformatted, and now it has no sound. I checked the driver, and it looks like it's installed properly. I even re-installed it, but it's no good.

In sounds and audio devices, the default device drop-down box is grayed out.

Hi what make of PC is it? Did you download and install the latest drivers? Windows XP?

It has the latest drivers installed.
