I bought an ASUS Crosshairs motherboard and it came with a SupremeFX / Mic Array (ADI 1988b) 7.1 soundcard and a SoundMax Superbeam array microphone. I can get audio just fine, but I do not get any output sound after I plug my mic in and run the SoundMax diagnostics, it doesn't generate any output sound. It worked before and I didn't need to use my microphone for about 3 weeks, and I just tried it again tonight and it doesn't even produce any static.

Right now my setup is simple I'm justing just basic front left/right speakers and a standard microphone. I don't use any other channels. I've also tried it with 2 speaker headsets to no avail. All 3 of my microphones work on another computer so I'm pretty sure it's either a driver problem or a hardware problem with the soundcard (SoundMax Audio wizard does detect it when I plug my mic in though).

I do a lot of online gaming and right now I'm piping my gaming speech through my laptop which is quite annoying. Please help!

Hi Has the PC got mic port on front and back of the PC? Is the result the same in both ports? Are you running Xp or Vista have you tried to reinstall the sound drivers?

I built the PC myself so it doesn't have a front port, just a rear port. I'm running windows XP home edition and I have reinstalled the soundmax sound drivers that came with the asus crosshairs motherboard. I wouldn't know the first place to look for an update.

I would go nto my audio properties and make sure the MIC is not muted...

Also make sure mic is enabled see pic below..Mine is a different Motherboard but it twill be the same layout.
