Default [Fixed] c-media ac97 audio problem

hi all have a prob with c-media ac97 audio device. have recently upgraded this comp to xp pro and since then no soud at all ive tried updating driver and still no good. in device manager when i right click on it and go to propperties get this messege:

this device cannot start code (10)

Recommend you delete the bad device in the Device Manager, then reboot the computer.
This will force the computer to refind the device and reinstall the device drivers.

Also, if any other devices in the Device Manager do not look good, recommend deleting them as well.

If your Device Manager has a "Other" catagory, recommend deleting any devices you find there.

hi again gandalf tried the uninstalling of the c-media driver and restarting but still came up with yellow exclamation in devive manager

Do not try to uninstall the device. Delete the device.
Left click on the device in the Device Manager, then press the Delete key on your keyboard. This action will delete the device from the Device Manager.

hi mate still no joy! did the left click then delete then box came up saying you are about to uninstall the deviceso clicked yes restarted then it ran decive installer and came up with same prob with the exclamation mark in driver. and for some reason come up with yellow question mark sayin in device manager raid controller if that helps any mate

Hi there, it sounds as if you need to re install your motherboard drivers as the Raid controller is part of the motherboard

hi there madgamer managed to sort the raid prob for some reason it was enabled in bios so turned it off and cured it as for the media prob still on going the serch continues lol
