I have a soundblaster audiogy soundcard in my computer and i am running windows XP, and in my speakers i am hearing a continuous muffling noise, i get this sound even with mute, the noises change when i start moving things around my computer screen, when i move my cursor it turns to a continuous buzzing and muffled noise., could my power supply be inificient for what i have in my computer,
(really sorry about my spelling) , the noise keeps changing when i do different things like run a disk defrag etc..
any ideas on what the problem may be?
BTW my computer still does this even when playing music and videos etc, I have tried using a 5.1 speaker system and headphones but i have the same problem with both and at two different houses!, i always run my computer from 1 supply

have you tried a different or onboard sound card?

Its the same soundcard I had in my last computer and it ran perfecly fine with no background sound. Since iv got this computer iv had the sound. Its running the same system as my old computer so i cannot understand what the problem is

I switched off "Line in" then it got quieter and it compleatly goes away with CD Audio off, even tho I dont have a CD or anything in
