Default [Pending] Sound/Audio Stutter Dell Inspiron 6400

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 6400 Laptop, used. After putting on some music, I noticed that the sound stutters every now and again for about 5 seconds. It's incredibly irritating! I've had a look around, and whilst I've seen other people with similar problems, I haven't yet found a solution to them.

My specs are as follows:
Intel Core Duo Processor @ 1.66ghz.
2gb Ram
160 Hard Drive
Sigmatel Sound Card

The laptop is also running Windows Vista Business. From what I've seen, there's a strong possibility that Vista is causing the problem. Some have mentioned that it could be the wifi, but I don't know how or why, and switching that off every time I wanna listen to music is not gonna happen.

Any help would be great, thanks. Also, please ask for more info if you need it.
