Default 7.1 weird problems

The speaker configuration is messed up. When I use windows sound properties the left, right, and center speakers work just fine. But my rear and side left both chime on rear left (nothing on side left). And my side right and rear right chime on rear right(again, nothing on side right). After it is all configured with that setup I open WMP and start playing music, now the center speaker does not work. My problem is when the center speaker works for set up then never works when not in set up. I don’t really care if the four speakers in the back are on a similar track, they don’t have to be individual. I just hope this symptum will help
Thanks for the help

Ah. I had the same exact problem with my sound card. I never was able to fix it, I ended up blowing out my speakers so I just baught a 2.1 system and it worked fine :]

But...Consider the following....
(I am not a PC expert, but sometimes I found that the following helped me out) :]

Is your speaker cable plugged in properly? To the computer and the speakers?

It may be your speakers, too... If it's possible, try a different set of speakers, that may work...

Do you have the latest drivers?

I also saw that you have high definition... maybe your speakers aren't meant for high definition?

Hopefully that can help you with troubleshooting, sorry I can't recommend anything else...
