hello i am looking for some help. this is my problem. first i had to format my p.c and i was given an un genuine windows disk and was unable to install servie pack 2 which stopped me from installing my sound card driver. this was a couple of months ago. i was advised to get a new genuine windows. then when i was saving money when i rembered i had a frined who used to work with the council and had a c-d key i could use. but my problem is that i wa wondering if i could install this new c-d key to verify my new c-d key with out formating as i have alot of important files. please help quickly

Eh, I'm guessing you probably got this solved but unfortunently no, as far as I know, you need to re-install
