Default NO AUDIO DEVICE! Help Please..

Hi,

i had the message 'no audio device' appearing when going into control panel etc, i thought i had fixed it as for a couple of days all was well. Today i recieve the same message again I have to keep going to 'add hardware' then audio codecs an reinstall these for it to work. (Realtek high defintion audio)

I think i either need to re-install the original Sony audio driver, or some sort of Realtek driver, both which are applicable to my laptop. I have looked high and low for suitable drivers but cannot find 1's matching my laptop model, or ones which are suitable.

My laptop is a Sony Vaio- VGN-FS315B

Would really appreciate some help in finding a solution.

Thanks

Try the Vaio support site for your model (Vaio : Support :)
There doesn't appear to be a sound driver on its own, but first step would be to try the vaio update or the preinstalled drivers pack.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Lebowski,

I have already checked out the vaio support site, you are correct stating there is no specific sound driver. I have found the 'Originial driver package', if i download and install this etc, will it have effect on my current settings and documents etc?

AW_3_3,

I had a few problems last week with virus issues, rundll error and allsorts. This seemed to cause the audio problem. Since then i have fixed all the other issues, but this is the only think iam yet to fully solve.

Thanks

It shouldn't affect your documents or settings.

When you go to reinstall the driver, select the advanced method then browse to the directory the drivers are in and let it search for a suitable driver.

Lebowski,

i visited the vaio support, and downloaded the pre-installed drivers. From there i went into the audio folder, and clicked setup this re-installed the original realtek. Is this the right thing to do? As there seem to be many other logos too, 'UAA High defintion audio driver' being one.

Anyway since, reinstalling the realtek, All my sounds seem to be working so i shall keep my fingers crossed it remains this way. But often when i turn on and off my computer the sound dissapears. I will keep you updated on this.

Thanks
