Unhappy message on startup

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum so I apologise in advance for any silly questions I might ask pls be patient I will learn.

I installed a Tascam us122L sound device on my computer and ever since almost everytime I restart my computer I get the message
Scanning BIOS image on hard drive
The computer then restarts in a loop with the same message coming up until I turn it off and let it sit for a while then it will sometimes start ok and sometimes I have to unplug the tascam for it to boot up but then I have no sound. I have spoken to tascam about this and they tell me they have never heard of it before and dont know what to do !
Pls if some one could help I would greatly appreciate it coz it is driving me crazy

Thanks very much

When you installed it, did you install the software first? If not, that error will occur. The software has to be installed, the computer shut down, attach the hardware and then the OS will find it. I am presuming you are running a flavor of XP. XP is a pain for this. YOu may also need to update your USB software.
