Unhappy Sound appears to be playing but cannot be heard.

I have a PCI soundcard which I use a 5.1 ss system which has worked fine for about a year. I also have a video port card which had a cctv camera connected to it. When I unplugged the cctv camera the sound stopped working on my entire computer. According to device manager, my sound card is working properly and the drivers are up to date. I have tried removing the sound card and putting it back in. Still no sound. Please help?

Hi there and welcome to PCHF

Can you double-click on the sound icon next to the clock on the taskbar and check that you do not have a tick next to any of the MUTE settings.
